Version 0.3.5 – Some major changes

This version is the one of the largest changes we have made so far. We would like to detail some of the changes here:
New features in this release

  • Admin side automatic translation of posts upon publishing – this feature allows posts to be translated as quickly as possible, so the feeds and search engines will see translated versions
  • New methods of posting to the sites – will allow more versatility in cases problems occurred in the past

There are some more bug fixes (read the change log) but more importantly this version is a major overhaul of the underlying architecture (more than 3,000 lines of diff), with more emphasis on software engineering schemes. For example, all code is now contained in objects (which will hopefully reduce namespace issues with other plugins) and options have been moved to a single location. We expect some rough edges here, so just inform us and it will be fixed asap.

Version 0.3.4 – Fixes and Interview

This version fixes some bugs, mainly the infamous NexGEN gallery bug (which might happen for other plugins using a similar method). Some performance tweaks are included, mainly for people using MSN translator (Did you notice they increased the number of languages they support?)

A new build system that we deployed in the development environment actually means that it will be easier to release the upcoming versions, and that they’ll be kept in sync with the source code repository.

Version 0.3.3 – 9 New languages

We would like to thank Google for adding support for 9 new languages: Afrikaans, Belarusian, Icelandic, Irish, Macedonian, Malay, Swahili, Welsh and Yiddish. We have added support to our wordpress plugin which took a little while because of the following critical issue. What flag should we use for Yiddish? First thing we would like to say is that flags are changeable, just follow the FAQ and if you don’t like our choices, no one is forcing you.

After a short debate we have decided to give Yiddish the european union flag because of two reasons, one – the language originated there, not in any specific country and second – the flag does not stand for any specific country in a similar way to the language which can not be connected to any country. If anyone has better suggestions, we are open to hear them.

This release also follows a few weeks of silence, in which we have been quietly thinking and discussing new features, which we hope we’ll be able to release soon, any help and feedback will not only be appreciated but will also help us deliver a better product.

Version 0.3.2 – Some small fixes

This version comes to fix some small issues that gathered while we are working on some more major functionality. The main fix is the one that allows the use of a main static page which caused issues in the past. A smaller issue regarding some blank pages was also fixed. If you encounter white pages, just contact us or comment here and we’ll make it work (no php4 please…).

We would like to thank Anthony for his help in reporting and debugging those issues as well as for his help with this site translation to Russian.
