Version 0.3.8 – Language Detection

This version adds the detection of languages for website visitors (based on the browser negotiation – geoip can be added if enough interest will be shown). It also supports the new `rel=canonical` in the new wordpress (2.9) which was released yesterday. The usual share of assorted bugfixes are also here. And again we want to thank Kevin Hart for his help.

This is the last version to officially support wordpress 2.7, as we would rather spend our limited resources on improvement than supporting old code base. For anyone using an old wordpress we have two suggestions: 1. upgrade. or 2. use an old transposh release. The plan for the future will be similar, once wordpress 3.0 will be out we will drop support for 2.8. Any comments on this will be welcomed.

Keep “trac” of our developments

Transposh updatesHello there,
The best way to advance is with the help of the community, and we wanted to let everybody know what’s going on and what’s the best possible way to keep track on what we are doing.

  • If you are a user and want to get quick support and get notified about new happenings, feel free to follow us on twitter.
  • If you want to be more involved in the community, want to help others and brag about with your site using transposh, we now have a page on facebook.
  • If you want to know what the developers are doing, know about coming features before they are released and generally like to live on the edge, follow our trac site trac RSS.
  • If you just want to follow the announcements on this site, the RSS symbol (either below or at your browser address line) is your friend. You will get this feed in the language you are currently using.

Comments are always accepted too (and we try to get back as quickly as we can). If you have other suggestions/ideas/advices/witty post titles – just let us know.

Version 0.3.7 – Feed that feed

This new version puts emphasis on correcting the RSS XML feeds. Settings such as GUID and language are now being correctly set. I would like to thank Kevin Hart for his help and support in nailing those issues. Other improvements are made to the parser which will remove some redundant phrases from being translated (such as [….]).

As always – see the full change log.

Version 0.2.4 – Welcome wordpress 2.8!

This new release welcomed the coming release of the new wordpress 2.8. This release includes support for the scripts at bottom feature of 2.8 which will enable your pages to load faster and get higher scores with yahoo’s Yslow. Also included are tons of bug fixes, most notable is the fix for themes that didn’t work and we would like to thank Karl for his help in pointing me to the right direction. We would also like to thank Mike for his help in debugging a problem with prefixes which prevented history and statistics from working correctly. Also to note is that foreign language RSS feeds should work now.

We hope you’ll enjoy this release – and as always – we enjoy hearing your opinions

Some new features in 0.0.3

Hello,

Today we release a new version that adds support for two features. The first one is the ability to get translated RSS feeds, all the user needs to do is subscribe to the feed on the translated page.
The second feature is an improvement to the translation interface which allows the translator to get a suggestion from a computerized tool (currently working with google translate) and use it as a helper for the translation process.

We are still very open to your suggestions, just contact us.

Update – 08/03 – Anyone experiencing installation problems, until we release the next version, please install version 0.0.2 first and than upgrade to 0.0.3
