FAQ
Translation
What do the colors of the translation icons mean?
There are currently three colors used
- Red – no translation was done
- Yellow – translation was done by a robot
- Green – translation was done by human (or approved by one)
How can I prevent certain text from being translated?
You can wrap the element with the “no_translate” class, or add a span similar to <span class=”no_translate”>, on newer version of our plugin there is a shortcode to support that feature
How to mark a post with a different than default language?
Using the wordpress editing, add a custom field called tp_language and insert the two letter code of the language used in that post, so if your blog is in English and you have a post in Spanish just add tp_language es as a custom field.
Can I make different images appear in different languages in my themes?
Yes, although a bit tricky – you can either use the $my_transposh_plugin->target_language as part of the image descriptor, this will load different images based on the current language, or in places where shortcodes are supported you can use the mylang shortcode as in the following example:
<img src="http://s.transposh.net/s/logo[ tp mylang="y" lang="he,es" ].png" title="transposh logo" width="300" height="86" />
Administration / Installation
What are the colors in the administrative interface?
Three background colors are used
- Green – this language is active and all users will see it
- Yellow – only users with translation capability can see this language (this is disabled once anonymous translation is available)
- Blank – language won’t appear on widgets
What is the dragging of languages for?
You may drag the languages in order to set the order in which they appear in the widget, you can use the sorting links below which will sort the languages and put the default language first. Dragging also is used to select the default language.
Why should I allow anonymous translation?
Wiki has proven itself quite a valid model on the Internet. More people have good intentions than bad intentions and that can be harnessed to get your message out to more people. Future versions will give more focus on preventing spammers from defacing sites
I have installed the plugin – nothing happens
By default, automatic translation is on and it should be kicking in. If its off, and you don’t have enough privileges to translate, nothing will happen.
Please be reminded of the following “rules of thumb”
- A language marked as viewable will have its flag shown inside the widget.
- A language marked for editing will allow a translator (anyone marked in the ‘who can translate’ section) to manually edit the page. i.e. the translate check-box will appear in the widget.
- Enabling automatic translation will automatically translate a page (without requiring entering edit mode) for EVERYONE viewing the page regardless of the their role. However it will only take place for languages marked as editable.
Also – please take extra care to validate your html, adding extra tags that are unclosed in the template may lead to our parser breaking. Use the w3c validator service for more details. If everything is setup correctly and still nothing happens, please contact us.
I have installed the plugin – nothing happens – themes related
The plugin works on one theme yet seems to fail on another. This might be caused by themes which don’t include the wp_head and/or wp_foot functions so the transposh.js file is not being included, try to include it manually by modifying your theme
How to restore a backup
Until the feature is integrated into the plugin, you’ll have to recover your key from us, just leave a comment on this page and we’ll provide you with the required information
Do you know about any Transposh friendly hosting providers?
Yes, MISolutionz.com provides hosting service and have been using transposh themselves, if your current provider is touting the “high cpu” mantra, you may consider switching.
Modifications
My target language does not appear on the list of languages
You can edit the constants.php and add a line to the languages array, or just contact us to add your language
I am using the flag interface and would like to change the flag used for some language
In the languages array in the constants.php file change the two letter ISO code used for that flag
For example, to change the flag for the English language from the stars and stripes to the union jack find the following line
'en' => 'English,English,us,en_US',
And change it to:
'en' => 'English,English,gb,en_US',
Note that this works out of the box only in the non css version of the widget, to make this work in the css version you will have to modify the image used
How can I add the plugin interface without using the sidebar widget?
Just add the following line to your template:
<?php if(function_exists("transposh_widget")) { transposh_widget(); }?>
If you want to use a widget style other than the default style and title, you can use something like:
<?php if(function_exists("transposh_widget")) { transposh_widget(array(), array('title' => 'Translation', 'widget_file' => 'flags/tpw_flags.php')); }?>
I want my own css image with less flags
This is on our todo list
Known issues
I am getting the following error (syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR )
Please make sure you are using PHP5 and up, PHP4 is not supported
I am getting blank pages when visiting translated pages
This error is mostly caused by a low php memory limit settings, please increase your php memory limit
The plugin is too slow/consumes too many resources/my hosting provider wants to kill me/page speed results are low
A lot of effort has gone into the optimization of our plugin, however, there are some actions that you might need to take
- We strongly recommend using a local memory caching plugin, such as APC, using this php extension will dramatically reduce the load on your mysql server.
- We also recommend installing a wordpress caching plugin such as WP-Super-Cache
The interface looks messed up
Another .css file might intervene with ours in a way we didn’t predict yet, either fix that .css alone or contact us
css flags have issues on IE6 for my users
First, there’s always the ability to use another option for the plugin which is more compatible, such as the selection box. Second, you can change the .css from transparent background to your page background color. And last – we urge anyone using IE6 to upgrade…
My theme is using cufon for fonts and translations gets messed up
Cufon and Transposh are not really fund of each other, our best suggestion is either to remove cufon (and delete automatically generated translations) or at the least disable it on translated pages. Mainly minding the fact that on some languages cufon will cause no characters to be displayed at all.
Plugins
please see our plugin compatibility matrix on our development wiki, feel free to contribute to it.
Plugin support: php speedy (http://aciddrop.com/php-speedy/)
Users of php speedy will have to deactivate it, add “transposh.js” in the ignore list, click on “Test configuration” then reactivate it.
Plugin support: Google-Sitemaps-XML
Currently the plugin is able to add the multilingual urls to the sitemap, and you need to add the following line at the sitemap-core.php, add-url function (line 1509 at version 3.2.2 right after the AddElement)
do_action('sm_addurl', $page);
We hope that future versions will include this by default, and for now you can get the patched file from our site.
After a change of languages used, you are welcomed to trigger a new sitemap buildup.
Update 27/3/12: Please note that version 4 beta supports Transposh by default, no need to do anything.
Plugin support: WP-Super-Cache
The support for wp-super-cache includes the invalidation of cached pages after a translation is made, which should reduce the issue with incorrect pages being displayed and redundant calls to the machine translation agent. After a change in the widget layout or the language list you are still expected to invalidate your cache.
Development
I have a feature to suggest
The correct place for that would be our development site

Hi,
I finally found an awesome translator, but I can’t make it look consistent with my other widget design. How would I do this? See my site for details: http://www.autoclassix.com
Thanks for your help!
Matt
#2 by Ela on November 27, 2009 - 10:12 am
Thanks for your Email. Now I could activate the plugin and the widget appears in the sidebar. But nothing happens, I get a blank site.(www.fastforward-magazine.de) I know you alreday wrote something about this problem above but I don´t understand what this means exactly. Sorry… Could you please try to explain?
#3 by peter williams on December 2, 2009 - 11:58 am
do you need the widget on the web page for auto translations?
#4 by ofer on December 4, 2009 - 4:18 am
no, you can statically link to a translated page, auto translation will happen regardless of the widget (although the script is required)
#5 by Peter Williams on December 5, 2009 - 4:53 pm
Hi thanks for the reply. also i activated the plugin on another site but nothing happens. it looks like no tables were created in the dbase wp_translations/wp_translations_log. any fix for this? thanks
#6 by ofer on December 5, 2009 - 11:03 pm
two solutions, either create the tables manually. or delete the transposh_db_ver key from the options table.
I’d appreciate knowing about any errors in the creation process you might have encountered so I’ll be able to fix those
#7 by Peter Williams on December 7, 2009 - 7:19 am
hi i added the tables and i see entries. if you tell me how to get a log file for the installation i can send it to you to see why the tables were not added during the install.
this happened on http://science-query.com
#8 by Peter Williams on December 8, 2009 - 2:22 pm
As best I can tell you can recreate the problem by deactivating the plugin and dropping the tables from the database with wp-dbmanager plugin ( i do this when i no longer use a plugin). Then if you re-activate the transposh plugin it will not create new tables in the wp database.

“We would also like to note, for all the users requesting google sitemaps integration, that RSS feeds are a good source for sitemaps on the google site, so you can add your new rss feeds and comment feeds and google might have better visibility.”
This is like sitemap for google? But i dont think so, because it just have visibility. But google will not be ranking it, that pages what is translated.
Google will give pagerank for translated page only then if this page is in sitemap.xml. Im saying true, because I have now this on my website. Pages have pagerank if they are in sitemap.xml included.
Sorry, for my eng
#10 by ofer on December 3, 2009 - 12:32 pm
Hello Andrew
Nobody knows exactly how the google works, I have submitted just my rss feeds to google with the webmaster tools, and I indeed have pagerank, some other pages has page rank even without being inside anything provided to google, as far as I understand, google uses the sitemaps (and rsss) to find pages faster, that’s all.
The point of the plugin is to help your users from different countries get a better experience, not just improve seo.
#11 by Albino on December 4, 2009 - 2:39 am
- It excuses my English –
Great plugin!
Do you have intention to also make a stand-alone version?
#12 by ofer on December 4, 2009 - 4:32 am
yes
#13 by Albino on December 5, 2009 - 4:25 am
When it will be available?
#14 by ofer on December 5, 2009 - 7:35 am
There will be a few standalone versions, and I cannot give exact estimates now. The first will probably be the client side .js version
#15 by Khirr on December 5, 2009 - 1:34 pm
- Sorry for my english -
I have installed you plugin (it’s very good) but my DB have grow up a lot (i think this is normal) before was 5 mb now 25 mb, i was using one plugin called “Best Seo iTranslator”, this use cache method to reduce no use consults, i like so much your plugin but DB to high is a problem in share server hosting (cheap), is there a way to reduce my DB, if it is imposible, could you tell me please how could i do to use “Best Seo iTranslator” but without lose users because you url is http://www.domain.com/language but in BSi is http://www.domain.com/trans/language thanks you.
#16 by ZDN on December 7, 2009 - 12:48 am
very cool plugin! love the way it works.
small problem: when google indexes the language pages they all return 404′s, even though the same links work for me.
#17 by ofer on December 7, 2009 - 4:49 am
Hello,
We are not familiar with such a problem, does not make sense, can you send your site url for testing?
#18 by ZDN on December 8, 2009 - 5:21 am
http://0daynews.org/
i kind of thought this might a new issue as i hadn’t seen it mentioned anywhere.
as you’ll see, i removed your logo. i very much appreciate the work of all the developers, but i like a clean layout. i think what i will do in the near future is put up a dedicated page where i can pay tribute to WP and all the developers whose plugins i use.
#19 by ZDN on December 8, 2009 - 9:30 am
ah! never mind! just took a closer at the 404′s and it’s not a transposh problem. sorry!

Our intention is to provide transposh for more platforms, it will take some time and we hope we’ll get there sooner than later
blogger and such is at the top of the list

After installing 0.38 and upgrade to WP 3.9, I try to activate the plug-in and everything seems fine. But I just can’t the translator to show
up anywhere on the web site.
Thanks.

Did you add the widget to one of the sidebars? does your theme support that? otherwise you might need the manual code that appears in the FAQ.
#24 by Lino on December 26, 2009 - 6:11 am
Hi Ofer,
i test you Transposh plugin foe WordPress but i have a error when i make manual translator. The error is Server’s message: Not Found.
Can you help me?
#25 by ofer on December 26, 2009 - 9:46 am
Hello Lino,
It appears the transposh_ajax.php file is missing from your site, can you check it is there? Do you have any unique access rules?
#26 by Lino on December 26, 2009 - 2:02 pm
Hello Ofer, the file transposh_ajax.php is present on directory plugin. The rules for all files of Transposh plugin are 655. i haven’t chenged their. I have the impression that my theme is the problem!!
#27 by ofer on December 26, 2009 - 11:32 pm
With the help of some email exchange, the problem was discovered as a wrongly configured .htaccess file. So anyone experiencing similar issues, make sure you check that you can reach the transposh_ajax.php file.

hi how do you get Japanese characters to show up instead of numbers?
#29 by ofer on December 26, 2009 - 11:38 pm
Hi, you probably need a font that supports Japanese on your browser, I see the Japanese on your site.
#30 by Peter Williams on December 27, 2009 - 7:28 am
ok i got it. many people talk about dbase changes for displaying chinese but nobody mentions that you have to have the east asian language files installed in xp on the local computer you are using! for anyone with the same problem check out this transposh chinese translation here:

Hi,
is possible get the current language selected by user to set php variable in page ?
#32 by ofer on December 28, 2009 - 4:20 pm
Should be accessible at $my_transposh_plugin->target_language
#33 by Ivo Minchev on December 29, 2009 - 9:21 pm
I installed the plugin but I get folowing:
“The extension may not be incorporated as causing a fatal error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare glue_url() in /home/minchev/public_html/rockada.net/wp-content/plugins/transposh-translation-filter-for-wordpress/core/utils.php on line 207″
Any ideas how to solve the problem?
#34 by ofer on December 29, 2009 - 10:11 pm
Hello Ivo,
This is probably a collision with another theme or plugin, there are two ways to solve it:
1. change the theme or find the offending plugin
2. wrap the function with a code such as `if (!function_exists(‘glue_url’)) {` but this only assuming the function is the same.
Let us know how it worked out.
#35 by Ivo Minchev on December 29, 2009 - 10:21 pm
The problem was a conflict with another plugin called “Feeds Widget”.
Thanks.
#36 by Ferdi on January 2, 2010 - 1:29 am
Hello,
in the transposh_widget.php a div should be added to
echo " form action=\"$clean_page_url\" method=\"post\"
“form – div – input” instead of “form – input”
xhtml strict does not like a input immediately after form otherwise it shows this error message:
document type does not allow element “input” here; missing one of “p”, “h1″, “h2″, “h3″, “h4″, “h5″, “h6″, “div”, “pre”, “address”, “fieldset”, “ins”, “del” start-tag
#37 by ofer on January 2, 2010 - 1:10 pm
Thanks, saw this and will check it out, currently validation will work for xhtml 1.0 transitional (afair)
#38 by H Muller on January 14, 2010 - 8:49 pm
Hello,
Checking out your plugin and have a couple of questions.
Does your plugin use the the clients browser and IP when in automatic mode (google translation) or does it use the server IP? If it uses the server IP what is the timeout between each translation?
Is there a php function which would output whether the page is being translated or not so that one could for example use it to show custom text only on the translated pages?
#39 by ofer on January 15, 2010 - 12:42 am
Hi,
To the first question, the client IP is used.
To the second question, can be done, both in client side using the meta tag, and on the server side checking the default language. That depends on what you want to achieve
#40 by H Muller on January 15, 2010 - 4:29 am
Thank you very much
Which function can be used to check for the default language?
One more thing, does the cache of the translated pages ever expire? If yes after how many days and where and how to set it so it does not expire at all?
#41 by ofer on January 15, 2010 - 11:10 am
Hello,
$my_transposh_plugin->is_default_language($my_transposh_plugin->trarget_language)There is no page cache in the sense you refer to, as pages are constructed from phrase cache, those are currently not set to expire
#42 by Madaíl on January 30, 2010 - 9:29 pm
Hi there,
Great plugin, i’ve been trying lot of ways for a multi language blog, including qtrasnlate and wpml. Your’s is just awesome. But i was wondering is this would be anyway possible:
Somehow when writing a new post, there could be a way to write both in native language, as also, write in any of the languages setup in options, ie Portuguese. As in qtranslate, user could simply write in english and portuguese, and then transposh would get that pt info, rather than having to translate from automated service.
Of course i can always revise the translation and edit it, but in longer texts, its a rather silly task, as transposh “cuts” paragraphs in random places, so one must translate little by little. My suggestion would also enable to write different text in other languages..
If not to be the purpose of transposh, which i understand, then do you know of any possible way i could achieve this (write posts in other languages too or with tags, that transposh would fetch)?
I hope i made any sense
Cheers
#43 by ofer on February 1, 2010 - 9:11 am
Hello there,
First, I really like the design of your website, great work there.
I agree with most of your ideas, the translation interface (backend and frontend) needs much more work.
If you have concrete ideas on how and where to implement this (design wise) I would be happy to hear them.
Regarding the cutting of paragraphs by Transposh, it cuts at punctuations and html elements, nothing random
there are reasons for that, and it should be better in the future.
Thanks for your feedback
#44 by Madaíl on February 1, 2010 - 3:14 pm
Hi!
much appreciated.
Thanks for the compliments also
Well, a specific feature that would be awesome in transposh would be to allow to write the post in more than a language, so that when the user choses a specific lang available, transposh fetches that data, instead of translating from an online service. This could mean this for example: I would write posts in english and in portuguese, but allow users to choose more langs (french, deutsch, etc). Transposh would then fetch the content i’ve previously written in eng or pt, but for all other langs, it would work as it does now.
Designwise, this could happen in the writing post panels. There could just be a specific area where admin could change or add a specific translation to a lang availabe. Just showing the flags would suffice. If you check qtranslate and zdmultilang you’ll know what i mean. In fact in this couple of days i’ve tried to use transposh with those two.. With qtranslate its a bit messy, and it seems qtranslate is taking over the place..buuut with zdmultilang i can get exactly this. That plugin allows me to write in whichever lang i’ve setup (without duplicating posts), but in site is transposh that changes languages, and it actually fetches the existing content i’ve wrote before for those languages… the only issue that’s keeping this from perfection is with some custom fields. I have some EXIF information from photos that are automatically created, and if i only use transposh, it works like a dream, it translates everything, i can modify the translation and it stores for every post with that info. With this mix of transposh and zdmultilang, it doesnt take into account the custom field there..
If you’re interested, i’d be more than happy to help, let me know!

Hi there again!
Just a quick side question, and perhaps suggestion for future releases.
Is there any way of not having transposh translate comments??
Thanks again
#46 by ofer on February 5, 2010 - 9:21 pm
Hi,
You can use the no-translate css class to wrap the comments area (or any other area for the matter) to avoid translating
#47 by Madaíl on February 8, 2010 - 7:20 pm
oh yes thats true! Thanks
#48 by Marek on February 7, 2010 - 10:13 pm
We are beginning a website where some of the posts will be in English, some in Swedish, and some in both languages (one after another, see site). I like that people improve the translation – maybe I can use that instead of having some posts in both languages.
I guess my question is, how can I do it so Swedes can translate English to Swedish, and visa-versa?
Thanks.
#49 by ofer on February 14, 2010 - 10:50 am
Hello,
Sorry about the late reply, needed to think about this a little. and although I don’t have a perfect answer, this will work when the enable default language translation is on, however that might probably cause some minor issues as the engine will attempt English->English translations or Swedish->Swedish. I can probably add a support for a feature to allow marking of original language for translation purposes, but that depends on demand for this feature.
good luck
#50 by Khirr on February 9, 2010 - 6:16 am
Hello, my site is http://www.actualidadinformatica.com, i have 1000+ post, when i use sitemap.xml to index all languages it is too big and google can indexing, i saw a message that says something like “you need to part this”, how could i do to cant have sitemap.xml smaller or “part” for google can index it, thanks.
#51 by ofer on February 9, 2010 - 4:43 pm
Hi,
That’s something the sitemap generator could (and probably should) support. A good solution for now might be to limit the number of languages for which a sitemap link is generated. I can help you with that if you like.
#52 by Marek on February 14, 2010 - 11:29 pm
Thanks for your reply. I am now thinking of just having the site in English with a Swedish flag. There is now a new issue: I have a few people who are willing to translate the English to Swedish, but currently the editing button appears after any punctuation, which on a site like this is impossible – its much easier to translate an entire sentence, rather than at every comma, etc. Is something like that possible?
Thanks…
#53 by ofer on February 15, 2010 - 12:26 am
A minor editing will be required at the parser, but basically yes.
We are still working on an interface which will combine those, but that’s not going as well as we hoped.
I can explain to you which code needs alteration. And would be happy to assist.
#54 by Marek on February 15, 2010 - 1:31 am
Wow
That would be great! Can you tell me how/where I can do that? Essentially have the ‘edit’ button appear only at the end of each sentence (period).
M
#55 by ofer on February 15, 2010 - 8:38 am
Hi
In the parser.php file, function is_sentence_breaker you can add or remove symbols that break sentences. If you want to remove the whole bunch just change the last line to return false. You might also want to change the is_number function to always return false too.
Let me know how it works
#56 by marek on February 15, 2010 - 10:24 pm
I made a test site with changes, so that now you can edit an entire sentence, not fragments of sentences. I think everyone thinks its much better for us… being able to edit the translation easily is great!
#57 by Andrew on February 15, 2010 - 1:52 am
Can Transposh translate all website content into all 50 languages by one button click?
Sorry for my eng
#58 by ofer on February 15, 2010 - 8:39 am
If by all you mean old content too, than currently no. But you can go to the items and press update and they will be updated to all 53 languages. The single translate button is on the todo list.

Any solutions for my problem my friend? Why I get “could not translate” servers message:
#60 by Hayden on March 22, 2010 - 10:21 pm
Hello, first thank you for a good plugin. We are using your plugin for a clients website and were wondering if there was a easier way to take off the edit translation form beside commenting it out?
We are only using the plugin for supplemental purposes and don’t really mind if the translation aren’t exact.
Thanks in advance!
#61 by ofer on March 23, 2010 - 3:07 pm
I guess that the simplest way is just not allowing anyone to edit (unmark all roles) which should pretty much cover this
#62 by Hayden on March 23, 2010 - 4:21 pm
Thank you for your quick reply. This would probably be the easiest way. Thanks!
#63 by Ferdi on March 25, 2010 - 8:41 am
Hi,
Your plugin is really great.
Just today I realized that when I click on a flag for translating only the HTML of the site is displayed instead of the translated text.
What could be the reason?
#64 by Ferdi on March 25, 2010 - 8:48 am
Well, in Firefox only the HTML source code is displayed and in IE8 it neither display the website – instead it tries to download the HTML code…
#65 by ofer on March 25, 2010 - 10:01 am
This sounds like a problem with the mime-type, I would suggest looking in the error logs to see if you see anything suspicious there
Good luck
#66 by Ferdi on March 25, 2010 - 3:03 pm
Thank you for your quick response.
On localhost transposh is working fine – as it did on my webhoster at least some weeks ago (the last time that I switched the language on the board).
I am wondering if there is any interpendency with W3 Total Cache (Plugin) and/or the database.
I have tried all possible variations: Disabling plugins, deleting MySQL tables etc.
Unfortunately I do not find any explanation why suddenly your plugin is not working any more.
#67 by Khirr on March 26, 2010 - 11:11 pm
Hello, i have one problem with translation, my title, mean in … follow in my principal language (spanish) but, how could i do to translate title too? should i edit or put a tag? what should i add? thanks.
#68 by ofer on March 27, 2010 - 12:01 am
You can add an identical phrase to your title in a post (even a private post) and translate it there. I know this solution is far from perfect but we’ll probably improve this in the coming future.
#69 by Ricardo on March 31, 2010 - 10:45 am
Is it possible to translate url’s? Actually I have an autoblog, transposh transforms auto english posting in portuguese for me, bur since original post is english, url permalinks are too.
Is there a way to translate them automatic?
Tell me…

#70 by ofer on March 31, 2010 - 1:35 pm
Url permalinks are not translated yet, maybe in future versions
#71 by Litbea on April 17, 2010 - 2:32 pm
Hi all, I’m using Transposh at my site and I would like to know how backup/restore works.
Thanks a lot!
#72 by ofer on April 20, 2010 - 8:45 pm
Hello,
The backup works by sending all the human translated pairs (phrase + translation) to our service running on top of google apps, storing them there. It can either run manually or automatically (either daily or direct after a translation was done).
Restore is currently manual, just write us and we’ll provide the instructions, this will be integrated to the plugin in the future.
Good luck.

Is it possible to change the position of the flag, so it goes in the footer with something like translation by transposh, or alternatively allow us to remove it altogether in exchange for a payment?
#74 by ofer on May 1, 2010 - 12:14 am
Hello Justin
You can move the flags with the function (as it is listed in this page) we hope to provide a more flexible solution in the near future. You are welcomed to move the “by transposh” to the footer.

Hello everyone …
I discovered the error when I select the flag does not perform “Rewrite URLs.”
Yet the option is set.
How can I fix this?
Thanks for the help.
#76 by ofer on May 1, 2010 - 12:16 am
Hello,
the rewrite url option has a few conditions that the plugin attempt to check (normally – if it works for wordpress, we’ll be ok too)
please send me an exact link to look at and I’ll try to see if I can spot anything bad
Good luck

We are facing conflicts when using transposh “Edit Translation” when we have other simple JQuery running. If we use for example JQuery Cycle or Carousel to animate a image area then we cannot get the nice functionality of Edit Translation to work. When we check the box, we get no tags appearing around the phrases so they can be human edited.
What are we doing wrong? If we disable our scripts running in the index page, then the function comes back right away. Help?
Thanks
#80 by ofer on May 1, 2010 - 12:10 am
Hello Mark,
Those types of conflicts usually emerge when two versions of jQuery are included and conflicts ensue, a probable solution is to attempt to make one of the plugins not include jQuery, which in the current version of Transposh is at line 495 of transposh.php
firebug is also your friend in seeing where the conflict is exactly
If you can send a link I will take a look

I use the Thesis theme (a relatively popular for-pay theme) and have noticed that blog post comments are not being translated. Is there something I should be doing differently, or is this an incompatibility problem?
#82 by ofer on April 30, 2010 - 11:45 pm
Hello Michael,
I took a look at your blog, and seems comments are getting translated (they are not translated on post, but only when a user accesses them in the new language)
If I am missing something, let me know
#83 by Michael Feldstein on April 30, 2010 - 11:50 pm
I checked again by going to a post with comments in my browser and then clicking on a language flag. This time I got mostly English but one paragraph of comments was translated. I can send you a screen grab if you can tell me where to send it or post it to.
I suppose it’s possible that it has something to do with my client, but I’m just using Firefox, and I cleared the cache to make sure I wasn’t seeing an old page.
#84 by Michael Feldstein on April 30, 2010 - 11:51 pm
Actually, looking more closely, it’s not that one paragraph has been translated. A few phrases here and there have been translated.

Hello again,
I am testing with firefox here too, and it seems to be working fine here, what is the status of the progress bar? can you attempt to reload the page and see if things change? and yes, a url to a page in which you see the issue would be appreciated
good luck
#86 by Michael Feldstein on May 1, 2010 - 3:34 am
I tried this again from a different computer and it worked fine. There must be something going on with that one machine.
Thanks.

Hello everyone …
about the prolem of translation, was resolved by itself.
I have not touched anything, it magically this morning I saw that everything is back in place.
In my opinion, BigG had trouble translating.
Good job.

I’ve just got a site going with Transposh installed. When I added adsense code to the site I noticed that most of the ads from google were about translation.
I checked the adsense site which said to add the following code to highlight which parts I wanted adsense to see.
So I put the following round where keywords are echoed –
<!-- google_ad_section_start --><!-- google_ad_section_end -->This is working fine on posts with lots of tags/keywords, but I still get some general pages with translation advertising.
I want to add the following code –
<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) --><!-- google_ad_section_end -->around code so that adsense doesn’t pay attention to it, but I can’t work out where it should go..
Any ideas? Thanks

It looks like there’s a back end error, do you have anything in your php error logs? a debug version might also help (which you can get from our svn repository)

hi, can u suggest me how i could add telugu language for my blog.
i have tried by inserting te(native code of Telugu) but still not able to see that language in my admin panel.
#102 by ofer on May 24, 2010 - 4:49 pm
You need to add the line to the languages array in the constants.php file, you should probably also provide the relevant flag file

Hi, this plugin is so awesome, it has brought me much international traffic, thank you for sharing it with us.
I have one question, is there a way to get the current country ISO code for a user?
#104 by ofer on May 24, 2010 - 11:23 pm
Thanks for the compliments, what do you mean by getting the iso code for the user? something like geoip?
#105 by Jason on May 25, 2010 - 12:07 pm
Hi guys, I asked a question here but can’t see it in the comments. I did receive an email today though from ‘ofer’, thanks for that. The problem is I went to reply to his email but found that it bounced back saying that the email account doesn’t exist. I checked the “From’ part in the email and it says – From: Transposh mailer
Obviously it needs something at the end of shorty like .com or whatever. I think his email client may not be configured properly to send the right address. Can you please tell me what the reply email is so I can send an email to Ofer?
Thanks
#106 by Jason on May 25, 2010 - 12:10 pm
hmm this comment system stripped away the partial email address I posted.
Ok so again, the support email I received from Ofer is “asterisk @ shorty”
Obviously it should be something like “asterisk @ shorty . com”
Can you help me with this please?
#107 by Jason on May 25, 2010 - 12:13 pm
Ok now I see my comment lol, I don’t know how I missed it before. Still a reply email address has to be fixed by Ofer or at least say something like ‘don’t reply to this email’
Anyway back to my original question, this is the email I tried to send back to Ofer –
Hi,
Thanks heaps for the quick response. No I don’t mean using geoip, I
mean is there a variable that transposh uses that stores a users current
language selection. For example if someone visits my site and they
press the Italian flag, is there a variable that stores the ‘it’
country code in it that I can access? A php variable that’s something
like $transposh_users_current_language = “it” ?
What I am trying to do is find out what the visitors language is being
used so that when they visit a link to another site that uses translation I
can do something like this -
<a href="http://www.example.com//index.html">Click Here</a>Which would end up looking like this -
<a href="http://www.example.com/it/index.html" rel="nofollow">Click Here</a>Thanks for your assistance with this.

Best regards,
Jason

Hi,
I’ve tried to align the flags and the by transposh all in the same line, and the only I get whenever I chaneg anything in transposh_widget.php is this:
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter – headers already sent (output started at /home/content/63/5298463/html/myfolder/…
Any idea please?
Thanks in advance
